Do not assume the charge is only Walmart+
A Walmart Plus descriptor can point to Walmart+ membership billing, but a Walmart bank entry can also come from a Walmart.com order, grocery pickup or delivery, a recurring subscription product, an InHome or Plus Up benefit, or a pending authorization connected to a membership plan. Walmart's own help separates Walmart+ billing from Purchase History and subscription-product management, so the first job is to match the amount to the right account area.
If the description says Walmart+ Member or includes a Walmart+ plus-up label, review Walmart+ Manage Membership and the Payments & Billing area. If the amount looks like a cart total, grocery order, pickup adjustment, or shipped item, use Purchase History instead. If the charge repeats for household supplies, pet items, vitamins, or groceries, check Walmart subscriptions separately from the Walmart+ membership page.
Membership billing mechanics that matter
Walmart says Walmart+ can be billed with a credit card, debit card, or PayPal, and that selected plans can authorize a payment on or after the billing date while the bank shows a pending charge until it posts. Walmart also documents separate bank-statement examples for Walmart+ base plans and certain plus-up products. That means two charges near each other may be separate plan components, not necessarily a duplicate.
A Walmart+ trial can convert into a paid membership if it is not canceled before the trial ends. Walmart's current help also says Walmart+ refunds are not offered, so this page does not promise a membership refund. Return refunds for retail orders are a different issue and should be checked under the order or return record, not under membership cancellation.
What to check before contacting the bank
Open Purchase History first and compare the posted amount against orders, grocery substitutions, pickup or delivery totals, and returns. Then open Walmart+ Manage Membership to review the plan, payment method, billing date, and any separate plus-up charges. If you use PayPal for Walmart+, check both Walmart and PayPal because the funding source shown by the bank may not look like the Walmart account screen.
If the charge is labeled Walmart+ but no matching membership exists, use Walmart's account security and unrecognized charges support path. If it is a posted card transaction that neither Purchase History nor membership billing can explain, preserve the order search results, membership screenshots, card last four, and Walmart support response before filing a bank dispute.
When not to dispute yet
Do not dispute a pending Walmart+ authorization until it posts or drops, and do not dispute a grocery amount before checking substitutions, weighted items, delivery changes, and return records. A posted charge with no Walmart account trail is different from a normal hold or an adjusted order total.
FAQ
Is every Walmart charge on my card a Walmart+ renewal?
No. Walmart activity can come from membership billing, Walmart.com orders, grocery pickup or delivery, subscription products, plus-up services, or payment-method authorization.
Where do I check a Walmart Plus charge?
Check Walmart+ Manage Membership for the plan and billing date, then check Purchase History for retail or grocery orders. If PayPal funded the membership, check PayPal activity too.
Can I rely on a Walmart+ refund?
No. Walmart's current Walmart+ billing help says Walmart+ refunds are not offered. Retail return refunds are separate and should be checked through the order or return record.
If the charge is still unclear after checking the source, prepare your next step before the next billing cycle.
